End Of Year Info

As we wrap up our 2019-2020 school year, we would like to make you aware of some important dates. Unfortunately, we are not able to hold our traditional promotion ceremony honoring our 8th grade students, but we have put together some other ways to recognize them during this time. Each 8th grader will receive a yard sig to recognize their accomplishments and we are creating a virtual perpetual awards/promotion video.

The following dates and times pertain to both 7th and 8th grade students:

•    8th grade Promotion Yard Sign Pick-up will occur as soon as signs are completed and delivered. (You will receive a message with the date and time of your scheduled pick-up)
•    Yearbooks will be delivered to JFK in August. We will contact you regarding pick up once we receive them. You may still purchase a yearbook by going on-line to Jostens.com
•    Wednesday, June 3rs, 8th grade Virtual Perpetual Awards/Promotion Recognition will be made available on-line to 8th grade students & families.
•    Thursday June 4th, 8th grade students will return laptops, library books, uniforms etc. and pick-up promotion certificates, PE items and any Perpetual Award received. (see time below)
•    Friday June 5th, 7th grade students will return laptops, library books, uniforms etc. and pick-up, PE items. (see time below)
•    Distribution and pick-up will occur in “drive through” fashion on Babe Ruth Drive on the west side of campus (in bus lane behind gym & cafeteria)

Report Card Resource

Report cards are delivered to parents once each trimester during the school year.  For Trimester 1, report cards are provided to parents at parent/teacher conferences on November 21 or 22. For the second and third trimesters, report cards are mailed home on March 14 and June 3.

JFK Junior High publishes a resource document for parents that provides a clear explanation of the grades students receive and the proficiency levels that students are expected to achieve.

Principal's Message

Welcome to the John F. Kennedy Junior High School, Home of the Knights! Our school is proud to offer a high quality well-rounded education for your 7th and 8th grade student as well as a clean, safe learning environment. We have an abundance of extra-curricular activities. Hopefully your student can or has found something on our campus that will help them connect to JFK. We offer a variety of Clubs such as Community Leadership, Stand for the Silent Club, Multi-Cultural Club, and Leadership. These are great avenues to building a connection at JFK.  We also offer a wide variety of athletic teams as well as three different award winning band programs.

The staff at JFK take their job seriously and understand we have two years to prepare your student for a successful transition into high school. With parental support and student willingness to come every day, work hard and be good, this job becomes much easier. Please view the school website for communication about upcoming events, programs, and sporting events. There will also be updated photos of students participating in the wide variety of events we have here at JFK.

Remember, as a parent, you are able to view your child's progress through our Parent Vue program. You should have received a flyer, in the mail, that outlines how this program can be accessed and its different features. If you did not receive this, please come in or call and we will make sure you have what you need to view this program.

This is only the start of the year, but your students are working hard and seem to be enjoying their time at JFK. If you ever have questions or need anything, please call or email any staff member.

Thank you,
Rick Johnston
